Yorkshire Sculpture Park Wedding | Vikkie and Dan
SCULPTED BY DREAMS
Wow this one has been a long time coming. I've been so damn excited to finally photograph a Yorkshire Sculpture Park wedding after a bazillion portrait & fam shoots here over the years. Especially because the awesome Vikkie & Dan were at the centre of it all. Two of the bloody loveliest humans you've ever met.
The day began over at Tankersley Manor Hotel in Barnsley where I got to photograph these two mega babes amidst all the getting ready goodness. I also finally got to meet the legend that is @sugarcrushbakes who assembled cheese laden crackers for me while I was shooting. I mean could you ask for more. She also did that beautiful cake for Vikkie & Dan. Hit her up for all your cake based needs. YES!
Also I have a confession to make. I'm not sure I was down with the idea of a content creator at a wedding. Just the word "content" makes me feel a little funny inside. Kind of like someone shit in my pillow case. But hear me out... I'm a frickin convert. Not only was @azweddings.by.aleks a bloody great human. She was un intrusive, helpful, did loads of stuff for everyone while I was being a diva in the corner & came home with some badass footage. I just gotta move with the times, hell I'm 40 this year (I know I look fucking gorgeous for my age) & this kind of coverage is here to stay. So if like me you're a judgy mcjudgypants I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Over at Yorkshire Sculpture park the wedding ceremony was amidst the gardens & framed by a giant head sculpture by Daniel Arsham. Honestly what an epic backdrop for these two to say their I do's. Speaking of backdrops sheesh Dan & Vikkie's backdrop kept blowing over all the way through the ceremony. At one point KO'ing the registrar mid speech. During the first kiss the registrar legged it out of the way. You know how they do, when they run full pelt & think that somehow makes them invisible 😂 But there was still some dude left holding the backdrop up in the background. Swings & roundabout guys & thank jeebus for AI removal AM I RIGHT!
After all that goodness me, Vikkie & Dan hopped into a car for a little tour of some beaut sculptures around Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The only one I was like "we have to go there!" was the deer shelter Skyspace. I just love the light in that bad boy. Magic was indeed made in one of my fav places in Yorkshire before we headed back for some groups, food & speeches. These guys first dance was all kinds of awesome, Vikkie is actually a dance teacher & as soon as those glow sticks came out moves were indeed busted on this day.
Here's to an epic Yorkshire Sculpture Park wedding day & an even more epic love.
THE REVIEW
"Ryan was so highly recommended to us that he was the first vendor we booked after securing Yorkshire Sculpture Park as our wedding venue. This gave us nearly 2 years of seeing his work to get more and more to excited about what he was going to produce for us. And we were absolutely thrilled with every picture he took.
We met Ryan at our engagement shoot, 18 months before the wedding, and were both immediately taken with his high energy, eye for detail and ability to chat shit to the point where we forgot he was taking pictures of us!
This was also the experience we had on the wedding day itself, where he produced some stunning images of my bride to be getting ready in an extremely packed hotel room, before hanging out with me and my groom's party in our chill space next door.
Aside from some group shots we specifically asked for, we just let him do his thing, because we've seen what he can do, and we were not disappointed!
The art shots he took are astonishingly good, to the point where I've had glowing comments from people who didn't even attend, and the candids captured some of the best moments from our day.
Book this guy, spend the money, and thank yourselves when you get the pictures. You will not regret it!"

Heading over to the Chetham's Library wedding I was greeted by a building that was really FRICKIN OLD & really FRICKIN COOL. So much so it had an instant atmosphere of HISTORICALTINGLES when walking through those doors. These beaut humans got married in the Baronial Hall. So medieval I was ready to skid down the floor and give my Lute Solo like James Hendrix the 4th.
Wowza what a venue, when I pulled up to the Renaissance at Kelham Hall began by nearly entering the wrong wedding before realising Kim & Nathan’s was just around the corner, & thank SWEET & SAVOURY JEBUS I did as boy boy oh boy was it a DOOZY!
As soon as I arrived the awesome venue manager gave me the grand tour of This Green Moon telling me about MAGICAL little monsters that lived there and endowing me with a special bracelet. I mean that was probably the GREATEST wedding venue intro I've ever had to be fair.
