Winton Castle Wedding in Edinburgh | Regina and George
OWLS GO BLAAAARGH!
Sheesh what a wild week of wedding photography. Over 800 miles driven, 30000 steps walked & my body & mind is only recovering because of the sweet sweet photographic nectar in my eye balls this fine day. I headed up to the jaw droppingly beautiful Winton Estate just outside of Edinburgh for a wedding in a frickin castle. Without a doubt this Winton Castle wedding has to go down in history as one my all time favs I've ever photographed & not least because it involved A REAL LIFE OWL. From the USA these guys & those that matter most travelled to this epic corner of Edinburgh, Scotland to tie the knot & sheesh did they do it in all kinds of style.
The day began with the epic Regina & George getting ready for the day. Seriously have you actually seen these mega babes. I promise this is not some swanky ass styled shoot involving super models, These two actually look like this. They are also just as bloody nice as they are good looking which is so frickin annoying. 😂 I absolutely adore the moments I got while these guys were getting ready & the Winton Castle rooms brought it to life. These two amazing humans just exuded emotion & all out heart throughout the entire wedding day.
On the wedding morning Regina had to have owl training. Yes you heard that right, training on how to handle a real life owl who was to deliver the rings. Honestly I thought it would be as simple as grab said owl, give it a pat then lob it into the sky like a boomerang. But while listening to the amazing elite falconry give instructions I was like "holy shit this is complicated." If it was me holding said owl I would definitely end up with my eye balls removed from said Hooting feather bag. Well I say hooting this owl didn't hoot it was more of a Blaaaaargh. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't slightly disappointed at said Owl's vocal range.
After owl training it was time for the Winton Castle wedding ceremony in the incredible walled garden where the sun shone, the tears ran & the owl Blaaaaarghd. What a perfect ceremony in such a crazy beautiful location. I couldn't resist getting some epic portraits with the owl before smashing out some groups, watching adults hit balls with giant hammers & heading inside for the first proper meal I'd had in days. Huge love to all the staff at Winton Castle by the way. They looked after me like I was a long lost king of Scotland.
After beaut food & spesh speeches I headed up Winton Castle tower with George & Regina for some portraits before exploring this epic wedding venue for some truly spectacular couple photos. After a cake cut with a sword it was time for the P.A.R.T.Y & Oh man George & Regina's first dance was so spectacular. In full Korean dress these guys were straight out of a fairy tale. But when the music really kicked in the dance floor transcended into a Winton Castle wedding based mosh pit. Fall Out Boy's Sugar We're Goin Down was a personal highlight. These guys sure knew how to dance. Even more so when Mr sexy clarinet whipped out some sax solos & the conga line was born.
I legit cannot thank Regina & George enough for bringing me to Edinburgh, Scotland to witness the fitness of their most spectacular of wedding days. It's rare I have a day so creatively invigorating & wholesome as this one. Two very special humans indeed.

The amazing Jaime-Lea & George tied the knot over at Gosberton Church before having the most BEAUTIFUL D.I.Y wedding reception in their own back garden. Honestly this was easily one of the most PICTURESQUE garden weddings I've ever done. MORE OF THESE PLEASE!
