Y'allternative White Syke Fields Wedding | Emily and Harvey
THE ONLY BRIDE WHO HAS SEEN MY WIFE'S VAGINA
I must confess I got a bit emosh during this wedding. See Emily is a bit of a spesh person to me & Paige, she was actually one of the amazing Midwives who home visited us during Covid when Casey was born. NEARLY 5 FRICKIN YEARS AGO. Yes that's right Emily is the only Bride who has seen my Wife's Vagina. What's even more worrying is at some point during said inspection I decided to plug my photography business. (Perhaps the word "plug" is inappropriate to use during this context 😂) Fast forward what simultaneously feels like both 2 minutes & 85 years & I'm smack bang in the middle of an EPIC White Syke Fields wedding photographing the drop dead gorgeous forms of Harvey & Emily for their most epic of days.
Legit this White Syke Fields wedding was an all star cast of suppliers. So many peeps I have been friends with for ages & never met, so many peeps I adore that I've worked with before. All housed in a York wedding venue that has been tickling my photography pickle for bloody years. Def check out the list of suppliers in the shout outs as they are all bloody brilliant.
The morning began at an air b n b outside of York. I gave Emily shit for wanting to put three pairs of socks on, she then downgraded to two on my advice only to send me a photo of her big toe sticking out at the end of the day. I mean I think she did this on purpose only to question my foot layering knowledge. She says it really happened. I've called the police for interrogation.
Once epic make up was applied by none other than KPA Artistry it was emosh first looks from Emily's dad. Little did I know during those father daughter tears I would see him later on during a 13 hour speech wielding a butt plug. The ceremony led by the unreal Kickass Gatherings was spectacularly spesh, especially the extra wedding contract signed at the end involving Emily's declaration of being a Liverpool F.C fan for life, his & her's Liverpool shirts & a cardboard cut out of Arne Slot. I must confess I just had to message Emily for that name as my knowledge of football consists of me skiving off P.E at school to go smoke the devils lettuce in a grave yard. (True Story)
Holy smokes the portraits, yes it was pissing it down on & off but these beauties explored the eclectic awesomeness of White Syke Fields until Emily's dress turned a beautiful shade of black. I mean she said she wanted a black dress so I provided a service when you really think about it. Magic tunes from the ever awesome Lily Kirby & later on Calum Whelan lifted the roof off the place. Temporary tattoos, Harry Styles, badass food & over zealous space hopper antics that revealed a little bit too much boob. It was all here in a chaotic Y'allternative/halloween vibed White Syke Fields wedding extravaganza that was a feast for the eye balls as much as the heart.
Honestly Emily & Harvey are the kinds of people you are honoured to just be around. They light up the frickin room more than an eye bleeding neon spaceship. I'm so frickin glad 5 years ago Emily gazed lovingly at my wife's vagina. Because if that hadn't happened I wouldn't be writing this dissertation today. Here's to this magnificent two.
Side Note: A massive shout out to Stephanie of White Sykes Fields. She is the wedding manager dreams are made of. Huge huge love for being so epic.

“Where do we even start with Ryan! I was lucky enough to meet Ryan a few years ago at my own place of work where he cheekily plugged his photography buisness, even though I was there to care for his wife and brand new little baby!
We stayed in touch for a few years and we knew when the time came he was the only guy for us! We booked Ryan before we even booked the venue to ensure we had him and would have honestly moved the wedding if needed to ensure he was there!
Ryan is one of the kindest, funniest and unbelievably talented human beings you will ever meet and I don't know if it's appropriate in a Google review but he's very easy on the eye (sorry Paige and Harvey 😂).
When he arrived on the big day to photograph the bridal party getting ready, we were instantly at ease and laughing all morning. Even if you're not a natural in front of the camera, he makes you feel so comfortable. He very kindly offered any help or advice we needed, even if he did make you wear one less pair of socks with your docs, which ended in a very holey toe situation!
Ryan perfectly captured our beautiful day from the serious bits to silly bits, insane candid photos of a family and friends and because I could never ever be mad at this man, I even let him trail me through 4 inches of dust in a white dress for the perfect shot .
His photos made us feel like rock stars, we will never look that cool ever again! His style is so unique, we obsess over the photos all of the time! (We probably shouldnt mention that my husband dropped our photo album just this morning, leaving a small dint in the cover and quite an unimpressed wife...)
Ryan provided us with 80 preview photos within days and the full album within 11 weeks.
We would recommend Ryan to anyone. He made our day so special and we will never be able to thank him enough for capturing those moments for us. We hope to have Ryan capture many more special times for us, he might even capture my second wedding following the dropping of the album incident! Xx”
