Lake Bomoseen Lodge Wedding in Vermont | Em and Cam

A Lake Bomoseen Lodge wedding photo with hands connecting during sunset over the lake. A silhouette of a couple is in each quarter of the image.

SPAM IN VERMONT

Wow I'm all kinds of emotional this morning. It might be the still present jet lag or it might be the fact I just dropped Casey off at Primary School for the first time. Sheesh Paige played it cool but I cried my eyes out in the car. Anyway where do I even start with the last couple of weeks. You might have seen if you've been following my stories that me, Paige, Casey & Sid took a road trip in the USA from Boston to Vermont with a stop at Salem for Paige's birthday. The end goal was a frickin beautiful day at Lake Bomoseen Lodge, Vermont where I got to photograph an epic lake side wedding with the spectacular humans Em & Cam.

A couple stand on the docks at Lake Bomoseen. The groom sits ona chair in the foreground while the bride stands in the background. In between them is 6 small birds.

So firstly an immediate shout out to my wedding bezzies Oak & Iron. If you haven't heard of these guys you should have. Me, Kyle & Bianca have been buddies for years & have that rare connection where we create work that is similar without imitation. Back in the Looks Like Film days (choo choo) we were simultaneously creating images that were so intertwined creatively that we were basically the same people without ever having met.

A double exposure of a bride and groom with a secret door in the woods at their Lake Bomoseen lodge wedding.

So began a friendship that has lasted longer than any in my career. Not only did these beyond beautiful humans Kyle & Bianca refer me for this wedding but we also got the chance to meet, get absolutely shit faced & hug it out. SLEEP OVER! Meeting them was by far one of the stand out moments of my years clicking a button for a living. It's hard to describe how similar we are in thought process, moral values & just as general people. Yes they've gone mega viral & deservedly so. But sheesh these guys nearly made me cry with their words about how much I inspired them & what they think I've done for this industry. Meeting them has sealed a friendship for absolute frickin life. I could go on & on but this is a wedding preview for jeebus sake. All I'll say is I frickin Love you guys.

Lake Bomoseen Vermont wedding portrait. A funny image of a couple jumping on the wooden dock surrounded by boats at sunset. Their serious faces and poses make it look like they're floating.

Ok ok so back on track, Em & Cam are the ones who booked me & brought me to the USA for this Lake Bomoseen Lodge wedding so I have them to thank even more really. Not just because their wedding day was spectacular but holy moly what beautiful people these two are inside & out. This was a day filled with absolute creative joy that slapped the hangover out of my system like I downed a full multi pack of vitamin sachets.

A lake Bomoseen lodge wedding ceremony. Surrounded by beautiful trees and rainbow prism light to create magic.

With a first look on a mountain top involving an epipen stabbing & a random door in the middle of the forest. I knew we were onto a banger faster than the golf cart could heave us up the big frickin hill overlooking Lake Bomoseen. Magical groups, epic lakeside portraits & all the wholesome feels made me warm in my special place before these babs even had their beautiful Lake Bomoseen Lodge wedding ceremony. Sheesh all the SPAM references too. This tinned meat based amalgamation of Em & Cam's names featured frickin everywhere, even on the groomsmen's socks.

A Bride and Groom on the dance floor in Lake Bomoseen Lodge taproom. Surrounded by those they love most everyone dances in lively colourful lights.

The jaw dropping ceremony eventually led the way to the Lake Bomoseen Lodge tap room where candle lit magic lit up badass entrances, emotional speeches & one of the best frickin receptions I've ever photographed. Mainly because of the light up shoes Em & Cam whipped out & "Where are your keys Nancy" (Don't ask). Legends! I could go on & on about this day & our road trip experiences but I've already written a dissertation. I shot all my personal shots on film the entire trip so keep your eyes peeled for those in my 2025 This Life of Mine post. Em & Cam, you brought such a perfect experience to not just me but my whole family. To bring me across the pond because you love the way I create gave me several "pinch me" moments in those 9 days. For that I can't thank you enough.

Here's to this magnificent two & their perfect love.

THE REVIEW

"We flew Ryan over to Vermont from the UK and while my husband joked “Why are we importing our vendors?”, we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I knew we had to have Ryan at our wedding. He’s the best of his craft and I can’t even explain how fun, funky, original, unique, and stunning his photos are. We received masterpieces that are all framable. This is not just wedding photography, this is art. ♥️"
