70's Disco Witch London Wedding at St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace | Lewis and Davide

A cool wedding portrait of two grooms at St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace. Alternative wedding photo of hands with two grooms laying on a carpet. Abstract love.

FOETAL POSITIONS & EXPLETIVE FAN FLAPS

Wow I've really worked in some proper spesh venues this year. It's not often I go to London, Hell I adore it for making photographs but it's so damn intensely busy it usually makes me wanna crawl into the foetal position in a dark room. That's basically what I did to be fair when I arrived the day before. Uber Eating the best damn Detroit style pizza & sitting in my pants (You read that as shitting didn't you) enjoying/deeply missing the consistent noise making small people that are my children.

But the next day I awoke with caffeine in my veins & love in my heart & headed over to the nearby London Travel Lodge to meet the epic Lewis & Davide. A quick morning coffee detour with Lewis & already I was scoping out backdrops for the inevitable London based magic we were gonna create. These two getting their too cool for school outfits on together in the morning gave me all the feels. The second we were out the door my mind was filled with ideas. Seriously my walk around Liverpool street & some off the beaten track bits & bobs with these two magnificent specimens was photographic heaven. I mean holy shit just look at them.

A double exposure of two grooms outside the Elizabeth line sign on the London underground. Funky wedding photography in London.

Lewis & Dee legit have that spark of magic about them that made me knew I had permission to get as weird & frickin wonderful as surrealism & soul would allow. The guys had absolutely zero inhibitions & believed whole heartedly in what I create. Those two things put together makes a frickin explosion of visual delights where my job becomes the best job in the frickin world. I am so damn lucky to have the couples that I do that book me for the way I make things.

After portraits we headed over to St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation & peace. Hows that for a catchy venue name 😂 This was a church all but destroyed by the IRA in 1993 & has since been rebuilt as a home for peace & diversity. It is also set amidst the contrasting backdrop of London's Bishopsgate. Not only did I photograph these guys & their friends & fam setting up the venue. But right after it was time to make some magic wedding party portraits amidst the eclectic surroundings. Holy moly did these guys absolutely smash these photographs before we headed back inside & the party truly began.

Dee & Lewis did the legal bit the day before but these guys chose to share their personal vows in front of those that matter most. Or as Lewis called it " Marrying ourselves" This was really just the precursor for the glitter laden, expletive fan flapping, love fest that lit up London with all the fire of a thousand sons. I legit had the absolute best time photographing these two bloody lovely humans in a city that I'm not gonna lie, normally fills me with a tiny bit of dread every time I enter it. Only this time my perceptions have been shifted. Shifted by epic love & two of the kindest people you'd ever want at the other end of the camera.

Here's to Lewis & Davide. XOXO
