Chetham's Library Wedding | Lauren and Ben
BADASS LUTE SOLO
I was over at Chetham's Library in Manchester for an absolute beaut of a wedding with the incredible Lauren & Ben. Chetham's library is actually the oldest public library in the UK dating back 350 years. I wonder if anyone has loaned a book for that long. The library fees would be frickin HUGE.
The day began with Lauren & her Bridesmaids in her epic flat 5 minutes away where I got to meet the spectacularly awesome Laurens Locks Manchester who made an epic job of colourful hairology. (I'm pretty sure I just made up a word) Sheesh spending time with these babs on the wedding morning was such a joy. That location too... There were so many cool spots for photos, I just had to take these guys back later on amidst the colourful art & funky street scenes. YES!
Heading over to the Chetham's Library wedding I was greeted by a building that was really frickin old & really frickin cool. So much so it had an instant atmosphere of historicaltingles when walking through those doors. These beaut humans got married in the Baronial Hall. So medieval I was ready to skid down the floor and give my Lute Solo like James Hendrix the 4th. What a beaut Chetham's Library wedding ceremony though. There's something about that weathered sandstone & high beamed ceilings that gave me all the feels.
After the ceremony it was confetti & portraits as me, Lauren & Ben headed upstairs to the library to make some epic portraits. Wowza what a beautiful space to make photographs. Even more so with Ben & Lauren & their wholesome love at the centre of it all. After portraits it was a little quiz & food & holy moly can I just talk about the food for a minute. This was single handedly the best Vegan food I've ever eaten bar none especially the Vegan steak YUM! Huge shout out to Wholesome Junkies, these guys made my belly happy.
I've also had my fair share of Vegan food. When I met Paige she was vegan & I used to sit outside the house on park benches eating Greggs steak bakes. It's alright though, because when we got preggers all she wanted was chicken nuggets & now I can enjoy meat based baked goods in the comfort of my own abode. I knew having kids would have some benefits.
After we left Chetham's we made some proper Shutter Go portraits with the wedding party around the Manchester streets. These are definitely some of my fav photos from the day. All the colour & all the city life BABY! We ended our journey at The New Cross amidst lots of party people, an epic band & more pizza than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles could shove in their Turtle holes.
What a spectacular blend of old & new in a frickin beaut city. Here's to the epic Lauren & Ben who were easily the best thing about Manchester on this day.
THE REVIEW
"The best decision we made for our wedding was booking Ryan. He's so worth it!
We chose him originally as we thought his work looked really cinematic and colourful. We really wanted art for our walls as opposed to just photos.
Ryan's communication was great - he kept in contact well before the day. He even turned up early on the day! He's really friendly and put us both at ease. The guests who chatted to him also said the same - how friendly he is.
We got our preview photos within 2 days, and our full photos in just over a month! The photos are absolutely beautiful - with a mix of posed and natural ones in there being our favourites. We now face the difficult decision of whittling them down as we have too many favourites to fit on the walls!"

Wowza what a venue, when I pulled up to the Renaissance at Kelham Hall began by nearly entering the wrong wedding before realising Kim & Nathan’s was just around the corner, & thank SWEET & SAVOURY JEBUS I did as boy boy oh boy was it a DOOZY!
As soon as I arrived the awesome venue manager gave me the grand tour of This Green Moon telling me about MAGICAL little monsters that lived there and endowing me with a special bracelet. I mean that was probably the GREATEST wedding venue intro I've ever had to be fair.
The amazing Jaime-Lea & George tied the knot over at Gosberton Church before having the most BEAUTIFUL D.I.Y wedding reception in their own back garden. Honestly this was easily one of the most PICTURESQUE garden weddings I've ever done. MORE OF THESE PLEASE!
