THE BEST WEDDING VENUES IN YORKSHIRE

FOR LOVE. FOR YORKSHIRE

I’ve been a wedding photographer in Yorkshire for 15 years. I've shot over 400 weddings & had the privilege of photographing at the best wedding venues in Yorkshire. The following post is a list of my favourite wedding venues in no particular order.

What makes one of the best wedding venues in Yorkshire?

*****

I hope this helps all of those awesome love struck couples looking for a place in which to begin one of life's biggest of adventures. A place for love to bloom & for memories to live on. This is the Shutter Go Click Photography list of the best wedding venues in Yorkshire.

Camp Katur is just one of those Yorkshire wedding venues where I think jeez I just don’t know where to start taking photos. From the jaw dropping woodland ceremonies to the epically beautiful Yorkshire barn wedding venue. I’ve had willing/beer infused bridal parties & couples follow me deep into the woods for spellbound portraits. Shared in the laughter & love of so many couples right there through both the rain & sunshine.

These guys are attentive & absolutely awesome at making your outdoor wedding come to life no matter what you have in mind. Couples in need of boho alternative wedding inspiration or who simply want to make their most special of days come to life amidst one of the most spectacular outdoor wedding venues in Yorkshire need look no further. Camp Katur has you covered.

Eden at Broughton Hall Estate

There’s a reason Eden at Broughton Hall Estate is high up on the list of the best weddings in Yorkshire. Inside this 17th Century Barn is an absolute testament to the owners impeccable tastes, use of colour, furniture & to top it all off Eden is set within truly stunning Yorkshire scenery.

I’ve photographed at a lot of Yorkshire wedding venues but Eden at Broughton Hall Estate is a venue that speaks to me personally. It’s the blend of modern white interior that juxtaposes seamlessly with its idyllic setting. I could photograph for hours just within its thoughtfully designed interior.

With space within the grounds for a teepee or marquee too, this venue has everything any fan of the Yorkshire Dales would adore. If you’re a couple needing a Yorkshire wedding venue that combines modern minimalist with the epic outdoors, Eden at Broughton Hall is for you.

As much as I love the country side when it comes to Yorkshire wedding venues I feel most at home in a city environment. Of course what better city is there than the one I was born in. The Faversham is a wedding venue situated right in the heart of Leeds City Centre & more importantly is surrounded by some of my favourite buildings in the universe. With the Roger Stevens building over the road & heaps of industrialist architecture this place is an absolute playground for me & a willing couple.

Inside is host to a stunning conservatory, badass dance floor & some of the kindest staff I’ve ever had to deal with. If I’m shooting a wedding at The Faversham I already know it’s gonna be one Hell of a party. For those couples after an urban Yorkshire wedding venue with heaps of character take a look at the Faversham & you won’t be disappointed.

When you pass Left Bank from the outside you could be forgiven for thinking it’s not going to be as epic as the rest of the best wedding venues in Yorkshire on this list. But once you walk through those doors, Boy oh frickin boy it’s a different story. This converted former church is normally home to arts & events but opens its doors to some incredible alternative weddings.

Exploring the inside of this incredible Yorkshire wedding venue is just a photographers dream (Just look at those windows!) Not to mention you can brave the spiral staircase with a couple in tow to find yourself looking over the entire incredible building. With an awesome bar, welcoming staff & a crazy beautiful interior. If you love church architecture, beautiful spaces & want to be at the heart of Leeds City Centre, then Left Bank Leeds is the Yorkshire wedding venue you’re looking for.

I’ve worked at plenty of farm wedding venues in Yorkshire over my years of being a wedding photographer & without a doubt Lineham Farm stands out as one of my favourites. With a beautiful outdoor woodland ceremony spot, an awesome barn & ALL THE ANIMALS TO SQUISH how can it not be right up there on my list of the best wedding venues in Yorkshire.

Aside from the barn & beautiful landscapes the colourful graffitied warehouse with attached climbing wall & bar provides another contrast that gives couples almost three awesome Yorkshire wedding venues in one. These guys go above & beyond to make your day as magical as it should be.

I could literally talk about The Normans as being one of my all time best Yorkshire wedding venues all day long. From the incredible fairy lit barn that houses some of the most awesome ceremonies I’ve witnessed. To the eclectic grounds that have helped create some of the best wedding portraits I have ever taken.

The Normans is a Yorkshire wedding venue that blows me away in every single way whenever I shoot there. To describe The Normans as simply a barn venue would be an injustice to everything owners Oliver & Laura have strived to create. Not only is it their home but it is an extension of themselves & in every corner of this venue there is a resounding sense of “experience.”

While on the subject of Oliver & Laura I have to say these guys are easily some of the warmest & most attentive people I have met in the industry & that’s truly saying something.

Oakwell Hall is just one of those Yorkshire wedding venues where every time I’ve been back I remember how incredible it is. Situated amidst magnificent grounds, the house itself was built in 1583 & ceremonies taking place amidst this epic Yorkshire wedding venue are truly a sight to behold filled with age old grandeur & timeless details.

The gardens are no less spectacular either & taking a bridal party out for photos amidst the Summer blooms is always a highlight. Oakwell Hall barn overlooks the surrounding woodland & is an amazing blank canvas for couples wanting to add their personal touch to one of Yorkshire’s most spectacular of wedding venues. Check out Han & Ed’s wedding in this blog post for Oakwell Hall wedding inspiration.

Skipbridge Country Weddings

Check out their website

I’m not sure where to start with Skipbridge Country Weddings as the moment you enter the gates to the minute you leave this incredible Outdoor Yorkshire wedding venue you are made to feel like part of the amazing family who run it. Like a couple of wedding venues on this list Skipbridge was born from hosting the wedding of their eldest daughter. From there they decided to open the doors to lucky couples willing to say their I do’s amidst their eclectic grounds.

A walk around Skipbridge is like stepping into the minds of its magnificent owners with Hobbit holes, awesome Glamping experiences, Whisky huts & enough land to house the teepee of your dreams. Every time I visit I feel like I’ve journeyed into an exciting new world. Hell even the blokes toilet is a photographers dream.

I also forgot to mention these guys have so many animals to ogle, poke & generally adore amidst their quirky venue including Dave the Alpaca. I LOVE YOU DAVE! Every couple looking to get married in Yorkshire no matter where need to visit Skipbridge & see what it’s all about as words can’t even do it justice.

Last but not least is Thwaite Mills. This unusual Yorkshire wedding venue is truly incredible with its array of eclectic buildings, working watermills, surrounding forest & heaps of character around every corner. Thwaite Mills is yet another Yorkshire wedding venue where I feel absolutely spoilt for portrait options amidst its variety of surroundings.

Having the opportunity to take couples in & around the watermill is just an absolute pleasure & these guys will do absolutely everything to ensure your day is one to remember.

Chapter Hall at Northern Monk Refectory

The Chapter Hall at Northern Monk Refectory is fast becoming one of my all time favourite wedding venues. A venue where old-world charm meets contemporary elegance in the heart of Leeds. Nestled within the historic walls of a former flax mill, this epic wedding venue in Yorkshire offers a unique blend of industrial chic and timeless sophistication, making it the perfect backdrop for your special day. With its dramatic architecture and rustic charm, the Chapter Hall sets the stage for a wedding that's as unforgettable as it is romantic.

From intimate ceremonies to grand receptions, their versatile space can be tailored to suit your vision, whether you're dreaming of a cozy gathering with your nearest and dearest or a proper Yorkshire party vibe. Also have I mentioned the beer yet. Because it's Northern Monk & my word they do GOOD BEER. YES! The surrounding industrial backdrop around Holbeck is also one of my favourite places to shoot. Hell even the car park is epic for portraits. So if you're searching for a wedding venue that's as unique and special as your love, look no further than the Chapter Hall at Northern Monk Refectory. With its historic charm, modern amenities, and unparalleled hospitality, it's the perfect place to begin your happily ever after.

Sheesh I love me a wedding at The Venue at Bowers Mill in Halifax & there's so many reason why this epic place hit the list of best wedding venues in Yorkshire. The Venues open-plan space is an ideal setting for your wedding. Boasting all the character and charm you'd expect from a converted textile mill. Think stripped wood floors, exposed brick, and lofty ceilings that exude industrial chic.

The Venues expansive function space has the capacity to seat up to 400 guests. However, for more intimate gatherings or events requiring flexibility, it can easily be divided into 2 or 3 sections. The Venue are licensed for civil ceremonies in both their function rooms, providing you with the option for a seamless transition from ceremony to celebration. Additionally, we hold an outdoor wedding license, giving you the opportunity to exchange vows in a picturesque woodland setting.

I absolutely adore photographing weddings at The Venue. Exploring those mill buildings with a couple in tow is just a frickin treat. I can't wait to get back there again very soon! YES!

Workshop and Loft Mirfield

Check out their website

Nestled within a beautiful Victorian building in Mirfield, West Yorkshire is the epic Workshop & Loft wedding venue. They've curated an unbelievably beautiful space spanning two floors, offering a stripped-back, yet sophisticated ambiance. These spaces are simple, classy, and intimate, providing a homey feel that will lift your spirits. They are dedicated to ensuring you have a laid-back, relaxed experience throughout your most awesome of days.

I cannot even begin to express just how unreal the Workshop and Loft's spaces are. They are so beautifully decorated & create a vibe that I genuinely haven't felt at any other venue in my career. Not only that but the staff are just some of the kindest and most accommodating you'll find across any of the Yorkshire wedding venues on this list. The space inside is just perfect for wedding portraits & fits my own aesthetic beautifully. When I photographed there I even got to capture some photos in the florist downstairs. A treat for the eye balls indeed. Check out this Yorkshire wedding venue! You won't be disappointed.
