Skip the Big Wedding Venues in York with this Intimate Alternative Wedding with Wes Anderson Vibes | Riley and Liam

An alternative wedding in York. A Bride and Groom stand ion the Shambles in York city centre. Tourists are a blur in the background.

HARRY POTTER'S TROUSER WAND

As much as I bloody love bigger weddings theres a special place in my cold dead heart for smaller more intimate days. Quality time with less people. Heaps of creative portraits & a bit of time to engage with every person there. Last week I got to spend an unreal afternoon with the Heavenly forms of Riley & Liam in Ye Olde York & my oh my these guys gave me tingles in my special place. We got in everyones way amidst The Shambles, harassed some passing Geese & created more magic than Harry Potter's trouser wand. Wingardium Leviosa! Come skip the fancy pants wedding venues in York with this alternative wedding with Wes Anderson Vibes.

A double exposure of a Bride and Groom outside Museum gardens in York. Pastel tones and symmetry frame this epic creative portrait.

Honestly when Riley got in touch about an intimate wedding in York with just 11 humans in attendance (excluding me because I am technically a gas) I was dead excited. Not only are these guys mega babes but are also frickin lovely to boot. Genuinely walking York's busy streets with these two was just like hanging out with pals.

Bride and Groom who skipped the big York wedding venues to explore the York Streets. Symmetry and pastel tones outside blue doors framed a bride and groom.

We began with a couple of quick portraits in the Grand Hotel before heading to York Registry office for this magnificent two to say their I do's. Of course we had to create some photographic magic along the way. A few group shots paved the way to some more York Jaunts. I made a b line for one of my fav streets near the Minster only to find out bloody Netflix was filming the Crown there. No Netflix & chill for me in that moment, just streaming & seething. It's ok though because like an absolute pro I stood & watched to try get an opportunity to throw my pants at fake prince Charles before realising I actually had a job to do. We ended the day together over at Fancy Hanks before I said my goodbyes to this magnificent two.

A couple walk by the river in York holding hands smiling. Summer light creates rainbows of dappled light in this creative candid portrait.

Anyway enough jibber jabber. Feast your eye balls on these preview photos & weep. I also took a heap of 35mm film at this awesome wedding too. Here's to Riley & Liam. Thanks for the laughs & a whole lotta love. You guys are the bees knees. XO

THE REVIEW

“Ryan made us feel at complete ease from start to finish. His comical and charismatic personality made us relax and made the day more enjoyable. The experience genuinely felt like we were spending the day with a long lost friend. Having your photo taken can be quite daunting but Ryan gave us the confidence and direction to make the day easy. The photo turnaround was quick and we got around 20-30 images sent within a week after the wedding. His artistic skills and work are brilliant and I would happily hire him again for the day!”
