CUM ON FEEL the NOIZE

Within the hours of photographing this Merchant Adventurers Hall York wedding I created badass love struck photos for an incredible music producer & stand up comedian aka Django & Beth, Chatted wrestling with an actual real life pro wrestler, talked Nikon film cameras with a proper documentary film maker & top it all off photographed & enjoyed the unreal sounds of Tom Seals, Jack Tinker & NODDY HOLDER. YES REALLY. All might I add in the Merchants Adventurers Hall where I actually got married to my ex wife over a decade ago. 😂😂😂 I mean my job is pretty weird at times but I actually think this wedding took the weird ass biscuit. Did I just say ass biscuit on someones wedding preview post? Yes I absolutely did.

The day began amidst the 660 year old Merchant Adventurers Hall in an incredible ceremony amidst those that matter most. When I got there I was checking out the group list & seeing Noddy Holder's name on there I actually presumed it was a nickname for one of Django's mates 😂 But nope it was his Dad. Opening the wedding ceremony in the Merchant Adventurers Hall with him being led down the aisle by Noddy & his equally talented mum Suzan was proper spesh but not as spesh as the absolute iridescent frickin love that Django & Beth brought to this walled city.

A double exposure of a Bride & grooms face with York Minster in this York wedding.

The day was filled with so much music & emotion & all out magic. A true testament to how beaut this couple are as people. Yes we created some epic creative portraits including a drive to York Minster amidst the onslaught of tourists. Yes we got a performance from Noddy himself that brought a tear to my eye. But it was in the tears & heart felt words between Django, Bethany & their family & friends that really created those warm fuzzy feels like a chinchillas bum bag.

It was that feeling that echoed amidst the age old beams & medieval grandeur of the Merchant Adventurers Hall in York of utter love for these two beautiful humans at the centre of it all.

To Django & Bethany. What a day. What a love. XOXO

THE REVIEW

“From the very first Zoom meeting, Django and I knew we’d struck gold with Ryan. We’re not particularly traditional, and our family and friends are a mix of wrestlers, comedians, and rock stars—so we wanted photos that could capture the chaos! Ryan’s photos caught our eye because they make you feel like you know something amazing about the couple, and that’s exactly what we wanted.

Ryan was immediately warm and generous with ideas, and there was an instant vibe of, “I’m gonna make your day look cool and beautiful.” And let me tell you, he did not disappoint.

On the day, Ryan was amazing. His energy matched our wedding perfectly. He was somehow both completely present—funny, getting along with everyone—and at the same time, he managed to capture the most intimate and gorgeous moments with this candid, arty style. I didn’t even see Ryan during the ceremony, yet he somehow caught the tears in our eyes and the joy in our souls. Incredible stuff.

We took a jolly around York in an old Bentley, snapping photos near the Minster. 1,000 tourists ogling us? Nightmare fuel. But Ryan made it light, smooth, and genuinely a proper good laugh. It was the perfect start to an incredible day.

We got our photos two weeks ago, and we haven’t stopped looking at them. They’re creative, and they don’t miss a beat of our jam-packed day. But the cherry on this three-tiered photo cake has to be the Super8 film. It brought the day back to life right before our eyes, and it’s something I know we’ll treasure for all of our marriage. His work is like a lens into the spirit of a moment.

Cheers, Ryan—you’re a proper legend.”
