A Chateau Wedding in the South of France | Unni and Espen
PARLEZ-VOUS ANGLAIS?
The incredible Unni & Espen's destination wedding was at the unbelievably beautiful Chateau Saint Michel in St Lizier in the South of France. These guys booked four frickin years ago & after postponements aplenty it was finally time to get on an aeroplane & meet this love struck two in person.
Of course those last four years have been pretty life changing for me. Mainly because I now have a one and a half year old bab! I took Casey & Paige along for the ride as if I can't make a little trip out of a destination wedding what's the bloody point?
The wedding morning began with Unni & her Bridesmaids amidst the epic Chateau St Michel in the South of France. Of course I couldn't miss out on Espen's morning swim. There were a number of times where I seriously contemplated jumping in with these guys fully dressed. But just like a Mogwai you shouldn't get me wet & whatever you do don't feed me after midnight...
Spending the morning with Unni & Espen was pretty damn magic, especially when I had such incredible spaces to take photos in. Of course the real magic came when Unni & Espen had their first look outside the South of France Chateau steps. ALL THE FEELS! Right after that it was amidst the rich green of Summer that Unni & Espen said their I do's in front of those that matter most. Just check out that Castle back drop. Swoon!
After some epic group shots we headed into St Lizier for some of my favourite portraits of this year. Every pocket of Rural France is a back drop only outdone by the love of this incredible two. While we are on the subject of favourite photos. That first image of Unni & Espen in the middle of the spiral staircase was a shot I knew I wanted before I even arrived. It is probably one of my favourite photos I have ever taken. Rainbows & festoon lit speeches warmed the hearts before a pool side sparkler lit first dance that cascaded like fire flies into the night.
