TOTAL ECLIPSE

I got to celebrate with the incredible Cara & Matt for their jaw droppingly beautiful wedding at Fountains Abbey. As those of you who follow me know. I’m all about the symmetry & wow oh wow does this incredible building have it in spades.

Together with Cara & Matt we brought home some of my favourite portraits I have ever taken amidst the ruins of this ageing beauty. Their Fountains Abbey wedding culminated in photographing these two love struck humans in apparently what used to be the Abbey’s grain store.

I know right! That crazily cool infinitely atmospheric arched room was little more to these God loving olden folk than a place to store their rice frickin crispies. It’s a far cry from my miserable cereal cupboard at home. Where my breakfast snacks of choice are stored in a majestic 70’s creaky cupboard right next to the 15 year old Fray Bentos Pie & sense of foreboding misery. Apologies for the rant, now let’s get back to this incredible Fountains Abbey wedding.

Everyone boarded a vintage bus back to Ripley Town Hall. Seeing the guests levitate from their seats by a good few inches when we hit speed bumps was a personal highlight. But entering the hall was something else. Cara & Matt’s family & friends had transformed the epicentre of this little Yorkshire village into pure golden pineapple infused magic.

The absolute pinnacle of their efforts was without a doubt the beautiful Moon Booth hand made by Cara’s dad. If you’ve never heard of a moon booth before they were popular in Victorian times for those magical & somewhat creepy staged portraits. But right there in Ripley this incredible creation was brought forward in time to shine over one of the most incredible days I have ever been a part of.

Here’s to Cara & Matt & a love that can never be eclipsed.

REVIEW | CARA & MATT

“Ryan is an absolutely brilliant wedding photographer, but his talents go beyond his amazing photographs which genuinely speak for themselves. He is a down to earth guy, and his energy and enthusiasm during our big day was super special (this is something all our guests commented on too.) Even though we knew how ace his photographs are we were still utterly blown away when we received ours. Two months on and we are still mesmerised! It’s so special to be able to look back on our wedding day and know that it was captured in such an enchanting light! Ryan has a knack for capturing the most fleeting intimate moments, we are thrilled to have found him. Thank you!”
