Victoria Hall Saltaire Wedding | Eve and Martin
BIG HEADS. BIG HEARTS
Wellity Wellity Wellity... I lived in Saltaire for a good few years of my life & this right here is my final Victoria Hall Saltaire wedding. But what better way than to absolutely smash the ever loving bejeezus out of my last wedding at this incredible Saltaire wedding venue than with the awesome Eve & Martin. YES! I can't stress enough please look at all of these photos as I didn't even know how to order them as they're all so good. I'm biased of course.
Holy moly this wedding was an electric collision of colour, art, design, paper mache heads, crow surfing, beach ball bouncing blinder of a day all wrapped up in the Wes Anderson vibed package that is Victoria Hall in Saltaire. Sheesh if there was a wedding & a couple finely crafted to be placed in front of my photographic peepers then this right here would be it.
The day began with an epic Victoria Hall wedding ceremony with enough neon flowers & paper lanterns to give me the tingles. I'm all about the colour & boy oh frickin boy did these guys provide. Just look at Eve's dress made by her oh so talented sister. That contrast of colour against bleak Yorkshire stone had me smiling all day long. Also every single vase at the wedding was made by Eve's Mum & was later raffled off to the guests. MAGIC! All the frickin joy closed out the ceremony as Eve & Martin headed out into Saltaire with me to make some photographic eyegasms.
Honestly these guys wanted to put so much time into photos & made it such a big part of their day that I was in my happy place. Having two incredible humans, their love & our collaborative passion to make art was just an absolute privilege to behold as we brought those memories home in all of Saltaire's most epic of locations. I've always wanted to get portraits in Salt's Mill's unreal attic space & sneaking under the barrier to grab a couple of photos was a fat tick on that bucket list. Photographing these guys in front of David Hockney's work, my fav giant satellite dish & of course the best gymnasium in the world right under Victoria Hall Saltaire itself all added up to make some of my favourite wedding portraits I've ever taken.
But it was in the connections between people amidst the colourful Victoria Hall Saltaire grandeur that the magic was truly struck. Emosh speeches & some absolutely badass food led the way to a raffle of Eve's Mums incredible vases & Martin's mums beautiful paintings. This all culminated with Martins band hitting the stage aka "Titus & the Salt's". Which included some dubious Victorian outfits & audience participation. I've never been hit by so many beach balls in my life but holy moly did the chaos that ensued make for some epic shots. Especially Eve & Martin crowd surfing off the stage was just the cherry on top.
I cannot thank these guys & their guests for such an explosion of love & all out magic in a venue I'm gonna miss deeply.
Here's to this one last beautiful ride in a place that was once my home.
Here's to Eve & Martin XO
THE REVIEW
I first discovered Ryan's work a few years ago when he shot the coolest couple who owned a pizza place. I immediately bookmarked him, thinking, ‘I would LOVE wedding photos like that someday!’
Fast forward a few years—me and my amazing now-husband Martin got engaged! After booking our dream venue, our very next step was to lock in Ryan. And let me tell you, from the very first Zoom call, I knew he totally understood our vision!
Ryan is an exceptionally talented photographer with a passion for the unexpected! As two creative people, it was an absolute pleasure to collaborate with him. His energy was contagious from the moment he arrived, bringing a fun, bonkers vibe that made the day even more memorable.
He captured every special moment with such creativity and flair, perfectly blending the heartfelt with the hilarious. Ryan has a unique ability to make you feel completely at ease while also throwing in the wildest, most creative ideas for shots—some of which turned out to be our absolute favourites! If you want a photographer who’s not only skilled but also an amazing collaborator, Ryan is your guy!
From the initial booking to the final shot, Ryan was always organised, communicative, and punctual. We've had SO MANY compliments from people, saying that they were the best wedding photos that they have ever seen. It was a privilege to have him document our wedding.
BIG LOVE

I couldn't wait to get back to Shears Yard, it's been BLOODY YEARS. That candle lit intimacy. That waterfront location. SHEESH Shears Yard is is right up my street. My mental street that is, not my literal street as I'm now over 2 hours away. 🥲 Miss you Yorkshire.
Lets delve into the absolutely BLOODY MAGNIFICENT Ella & Chris' most spectacular of Project House Leeds wedding days involving sex shops, epic toilets & more crystals than Krypton baby. YES!
Every time I get to the Faversham for a wedding it's like shooting at home. The staff are so ATTENTIVE & WELCOMING that it gives me all the feels. Before I know it I have a drink in my hand & I'm laughing & joking with all the BEAUT humans that run the place. A lot of wedding venues could learn to be a bit more like the Faversham that's for sure.
I've not really got a BUCKET LIST for places I wanna shoot but if I did a library would definitely be on it. I'm from Leeds & grew up in Leeds but I've never set foot in Leeds Library & MY WORD was it a treat for the eyes. Check out the INCREDIBLE Leeds Library wedding of Natalie & Jonathon.
A little while back I had the PRIVILEGE of photographing the last ever wedding at The Tetley in Leeds. There was definitely mixed feelings when I set off that morning. It's funny really, I can't quite put my finger on what makes this venue so DAMN SPECIAL to me. Perhaps because it's been there throughout my journey as a wedding photographer over the last decade.

As soon as I arrived the awesome venue manager gave me the grand tour of This Green Moon telling me about MAGICAL little monsters that lived there and endowing me with a special bracelet. I mean that was probably the GREATEST wedding venue intro I've ever had to be fair.
