Shears Yard Wedding in Leeds | Jade and Fran
BINS, BUBBLES & BLISTER PLASTERS
After a few weeks off for our house move it's time to strap myself in for wedding season to truly begin YES! This time I was over in my home city of Leeds to photograph a badass Shears Yard wedding with Jade & Fran. The day began at Leeds Civic Hall. Legit after been in my own countryside/seaside bubble in Lincolnshire for close to a month, being back in a city freaked me out a bit at first. Like I had just exited the womb bleary eyed into a world full of chaos. Not just because I was immediately approached by a very drunk man telling me my hair was the greatest thing he had ever seen. (Side note: He's not wrong) But also it was my first wedding back for a while & I was ready to knock it out of the frickin park.
As soon as Jade turned up applying blister plasters to every appendage I felt right at home with these beaut humans. Their wedding ceremony in front of those that matter most was such a frickin celebration of love. Not to mention just feast your eyes on how good these babs look. Right after the ceremony I was itching in my undulating under-crackers to make some portraits on the walk down to Shears Yard. Honestly these two were so frickin awesome to be around. We had a right laugh making some visual delights around back streets & bins.
Even more hilarious was any time we got a shot in front of some kind of door, something exited from said door. A supposedly disused alley full of more green bins than the eye could see provided a backdrop for a loved up portrait. Right before the door opened abruptly scaring the shit out of Jade, Fran & said man exiting his premises who I'm sure at one point were all simultaneously screaming. Good times.
When we hit the Shears Yard wedding party though the magic truly began. I couldn't wait to get back to this venue, it's been bloody years. That candle lit intimacy. That waterfront location. Sheesh Shears Yard is is right up my street. My mental street that is, not my literal street as I'm now over 2 hours away. 🥲 Miss you Yorkshire. Creating all those groups outside the Me & You mural by Laura Wellington of In Good Company was frickin perfect too. This is easily one of my favourite places in Leeds to make photographs & it was literally just over the frickin road. Back inside speeches had everyone in tears. I swooped about like the emotional vulture I am to collect their tears for my clone army.
After that DJ Yorkshire played some blinders & the Shears Yard dance floor was filled with magical humans doing magical moves. Hell it was good to get back to doing what I love the mostest in a place I love the hardest.
Here's to the incredible Jade & Fran XO
THE REVIEW
“Ryan has a special super power where he immediately puts everyone around him at ease. Within 10 seconds of meeting him on the day, all of our nerves went away and we were free to do whatever random poses he wanted us to do. The vision that he has is incredible and you have to trust the process when he tells you to stand in front of some bins. We feel so lucky that our day has been captured forever in the most beautiful way, in his style that is so unique. He's a wonderful soul inside and out and we cannot thank him enough!!”

Lets delve into the absolutely BLOODY MAGNIFICENT Ella & Chris' most spectacular of Project House Leeds wedding days involving sex shops, epic toilets & more crystals than Krypton baby. YES!
Every time I get to the Faversham for a wedding it's like shooting at home. The staff are so ATTENTIVE & WELCOMING that it gives me all the feels. Before I know it I have a drink in my hand & I'm laughing & joking with all the BEAUT humans that run the place. A lot of wedding venues could learn to be a bit more like the Faversham that's for sure.

As soon as I arrived the awesome venue manager gave me the grand tour of This Green Moon telling me about MAGICAL little monsters that lived there and endowing me with a special bracelet. I mean that was probably the GREATEST wedding venue intro I've ever had to be fair.
