TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS
Twas the night before Christmas, & I ain't seen no mouse. Ain't no creature a stirring... Except for Shutter Go Click in the Mother F*%'ing house...
Excuse me... I've had a single beer. Which of course means I'm absolutely off my face. What's that I hear you say? How dare you Ryan! Well it's only BLOODY CHRISTMAS INNIT! But Christmas eve ain't no excuse for a lack of wedding shaped awesomeness. In fact I have an absolute bauble tingling Santas sack lifting doozy of a Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey wedding right here for your viewing pleasure.
Now let me tell you, firstly Ben & Olivia are the kind of humans who would make you feel like it's nearly Christmas on an average day of the week. By that I mean it's so rare you get to meet such warm & incredible people that make you feel all fuzzy inside like a tiny Chinchilla on a bed of snuggles.
It all began with Olivia & her sisters aka bridesmaids at the beautiful Devonshire Arms Hotel & Spa. There they spent the morning getting ready before heading over to the OH MY GOD HOW MANY CANDLES Tithe Barn amidst the jaw dropping setting of Bolton Abbey. It's my first time shooting at this amazing Yorkshire wedding venue & jeez I was not disappointed.
Olivia & Ben's wedding ceremony at the Tithe Barn was just perfect too, with their celebrant for the day being one of their closest friends & theatre actor extraordinaire. He absolutely raised the frickin roof of this sleepy part of idyllic Yorkshire. Ring blessings & hand fasting led the way to a mad dash to chase that last Winter light with the Bride & Groom in tow. From there we headed out to explore the incredible Bolton Abbey & surrounding landscape.
Every now & then I get a couple who just don't need posing. What I mean by that is they're too busy being so bloody in love to even acknowledge the camera. It's fair to say these guys lit up the Winter bleak with their warm embrace.
Back inside The Tithe Barn it was food & speeches. I have to say Ben's two best men actually put on one of if not THE BEST speech I have ever witnessed at a wedding & I have seen A LOT. I can't even begin to explain why but they even got a standing ovation at the end so I clearly wasn't the only one who was impressed. LEGENDS.
Finally it was Tithe Barn dance floor antics led by the ever awesome Hi-Life Entertainment. Wowza there was some moves busted on this day. The dance floor then moved outside for some drunken sparkler wielding antics with cries of "SET THE BRIDE & GROOM ON FIRE" echoing across the Yorkshire Dales. Thankfully that never happened as my liability insurance probably wouldn't cover it. But one things for sure Olivia & Ben warmed hearts & provided a flame that would leave a spark burning in Yorkshire for ever more.
