A Rock ‘n Roll Wedding at The Venue in Halifax | Ric and Sophie
PULL yourself TOGETHER
A few weeks back saw me heading over to Halifax for a wedding in torrential rain thinking, "I'm gonna need a frickin snorkel for this bad boy." Thankfully not only did the rain hold off when it mattered most. But I got to shelter in the love & rock n roll of the dashingly cool Richard & beautiful Sophie.
It all kicked off at The Venue Halifax where the wedding party got to listen to the sweet sounds of David Broad Music. Jeez I frickin love a double bass. While we are on the subject of music, Ric is an incredible musician in his own right. Go listen to the awesome sounds of Howlin' Ric & The Rocketeers when you have chance & bring pleasure to your ear 'oles. In fact the whole damn wedding was filled to the brim with musical talent & enough too cool for school to make me weep into my memory card slots with shame. MY MUM THINKS I'M COOL 😭
After an incredible wedding ceremony where even the registrar couldn't get anyones name right. I dragged Ric & Sophie out into the bleak for some portraits. Honestly just how bloody beaut are these two. It makes me want to shave my beard off & join the moustache gang, but I'm fully aware I have a bum chin under all this fluff & the world just isn't ready for the bumtache combo.
I absolutely love The Venue in Halifax. Not just because of the crazy cool lighting. Mainly because I frickin love the way there's several curtains that hide each part of the large epic wedding space that gradually get opened as the day progresses. It reminds me of a shit game show but in a good way. There are zero prizes, just a chance to catch a glimpse of the rest of the room. Ohhhhhhhh the curtains moving HERE'S YOUR WEDDING BREAKFAST. Ohhhhhhh the curtains going again HERE'S YOUR RECEPTION. My only complaint is there's no curtains that pull back to reveal the toilets. Ya missed a trick there guys.
After speeches & all kinds of magic in that first dance. I left these guys as the day started, driving home in the bloody rain. This time smiling with the music & love that cascaded amidst this epic corner of Halifax.
Here's to Ric & Sophie. XOXO

As soon as I arrived the awesome venue manager gave me the grand tour of This Green Moon telling me about MAGICAL little monsters that lived there and endowing me with a special bracelet. I mean that was probably the GREATEST wedding venue intro I've ever had to be fair.
