Barmbyfield Barns Wedding | Lauren and Steve
a CHRISTMAS WEDDING miracle
Every now & again there’s a wedding. A wedding that is so frickin epic it tickles your tinsel & slaps you around the Christmas baubles. Lauren & Steve’s Barmbyfield Barns wedding was nothing short of a festive spectacular. All put together by Ellen of LND events. These guys pulled out every stop to make their wedding a rainy day in December to remember.
It all began with Lauren & her Bridesmaids over at the Grand Hotel in York. Not only was it awesome hanging out with these guys but as soon as I saw the bloody lovely Victoria Farr was doing the make up I was like YES DREAM TEAM. Also just check out that beaut of a RED dress by my pal Hayley at Rolling in Roses. Swoon! I just to had to use those green tiles amidst the epic spiral staircases of the grand hotel to grab some colourful dress shots.
From there me & Paige headed to the awesome Barmbyfield Barns for the wedding day to truly begin. The first stand out awesomeness of this epic wedding venue was just how incredible the flowers from Dittanyentwined were. With a ginormous Christmas wreath, beautiful bouquets & epic centre pieces. Jeez this festive foliage would have have put the Christmas spirit into Scrooge. BAH HUMBUG!
After a beautiful candle lit Barmbyfield Barns wedding ceremony serenaded by the unreal sounds of the Northern String Quartet it was groups & portraits amidst the grounds of this awesome Yorkshire wedding venue. A special shout out to everyone especially Lauren who stepped outside into the cold in the name of creativity that day. Jeez the rain was not kind to us but that didn’t stop us from creating some epicness whenever we could.
As the sun set fantastic food from Doms kitchen followed by awesome speeches lit up the room of Barmbyfield Barns. Twinkling fairy lights, Christmas trees & even a Santas sleigh made me & Paige feel all warm & fuzzy inside. Once again IT’S CHRISTMAS NEXT WEEK!!! 😱
Of course it was in the darkness where the magic truly began. Lauren admitted to me & Paige that morning that she’d made a silly drunken purchase that the Groom Steve hadn’t forgiven her for just yet. A PROPER VICTORIAN CAROUSEL! Holy moly we just had to get this magnificent two riding them horses before the night was out. In the pouring rain Lauren & Steve climbed aboard for some proper winter magic amidst this pocket of Yorkshire.
Back inside it was a first dance amidst cascading fairy lights before the room hit the dance floor & we said our goodbyes.
Here’s to this incredible two & their Barmbyfield Barns Christmas wedding miracle.

THE REVIEW
“Well… I don’t know where to start really! When I got engaged I knew I wanted something different, I stumbled across Shutter Go Click and fell in love with Ryan’s style! I’ve never seen any like it before and I was SO LUCKY that he was free on my date. From the second I got in contact with him, I knew I’d made the right choice. He was so enthusiastic and so genuinely excited, Considering I contacted him when we were in the middle of yet another lockdown, this meant the world to me. Throughout the process he remained so approachable and I genuinely couldn’t wait to meet him and his wonderful fiancé Paige.
On the morning of the big day Ryan and Paige were a breath of excited, creative fresh air and set me at ease from the second they walked through the hotel door. I’m not a fan of having my photo taken but he completely set me at ease. I loved watching his creative mind whirr away as he took in the room, the dress, everything. He found a stairwell that was gorgeous and instantly knew just what to do and produced some of my favourite photos from it. They genuinely brightened my morning and relaxed my jittery nerves brilliantly.
They remained the most lovely, creative, dynamic duo for the rest of the day and although we had some set up shots. The rest of the time I barely knew they were there, but They certainly were capturing every moment for me to keep forever. The shots that were set up by Ryan were so creative and more importantly so much bloody fun! Even in torrential rain - he made the whole thing a blast.
On my booking I selected an extra option of Paige doing a mini video and this was the BEST decision ever! She is absolutely amazing and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve watched it. It’s the perfect length to share with family and friends and she captured the mood of the day perfectly - tick that box - you won’t regret it!
As for the photos well, there are no words to describe them - they’re just so unique, no two are the same and I will treasure them forever. I know I’ll be ordering several more and we already have a wonderful canvas of my favourite family shot hanging in the living room. I couldn’t have wished for better - they are simply exquisite.
I cannot recommend Shutter Go Click enough, I’ve had so many comments from friends and family that they’re the best wedding photos they’ve ever seen and I have to agree.
If you what to remember your day in vivid colour and beauty then this is the man you want. Wherever and whenever you’re getting married you can completely trust Ryan and Paige to make it exceptional… and all whilst having a blast.
Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts, Lauren and Steve x”

Heading over to the Chetham's Library wedding I was greeted by a building that was really FRICKIN OLD & really FRICKIN COOL. So much so it had an instant atmosphere of HISTORICALTINGLES when walking through those doors. These beaut humans got married in the Baronial Hall. So medieval I was ready to skid down the floor and give my Lute Solo like James Hendrix the 4th.
