York Wedding Photography | Cayleigh and Phil
the SUBTLETIES of LIFE that FEED my SOUL
Isn't there a sense of magic & warmth to the 'used to be normal' things we took for granted before the s*%t hit the fan. A simple trip to the pub, families in the park, taking my 6 month old out into the big wide world. Watching his eyes soak in the eclectic collision of colour & noise that is everyday life outside of the four walls that are all he's ever known. There's a wonder in the subtleties of life. Perhaps it's because I'm a Father now. But I find myself smiling at what was once mundane or trivial. A wide smile that feeds my very soul.
On Friday I was over in beautiful York with the incredible Cayleigh & Phil for their intimate wedding in the walled city. The day began at the Grand Hotel in York where I got to spend the morning with Cayleigh herself & her awesome Bridesmaids. Jeez if there is one thing I adore about wedding mornings it's seeing the Dads look on his face as he sees his Daughter for the first time & today was no exception.
Tears & taxis led the way to York Registry office for a ceremony in front of those that matter most. Then me, Phil & Cayleigh headed into busy York for some sun laden portraits. Of course we couldn't help but stop for a swift one at a nearby pub. YES!
Museum gardens, industrial meets old York, I honestly had such a bloody good time photographing this amazing pair amidst one of my favourite places on Earth. We ended our day at the Whippet Inn where these two finally got to celebrate with the friends & family that weren't able to attend the ceremony.
Isn't there a sense of magic & warmth to the 'used to be normal' things we took for granted before the s*%t hit the fan. For onlookers in York that day, seeing Cayleigh & Phil was like feeling a spark in the bleak. A reminder that love goes on no matter how long or bumpy the road can be.

SHEESH the last time I was at The Judge's Lodging was when I was a student nearly 20 YEARS back at a New Years party in the basement & the place looked a lot less Psychedelic this time around. Check out the UNREAL wedding of James & Dion!
