A Wedding at Rise Hall Beverley | Rachael and Sam
F*%K YOU COWS
Every now & again you do a wedding that is so bloody perfect in every way that you have a big smile on your face all frickin day. Even before I got to meet the incredible Rachael & Sam in person I already knew this wedding at Rise Hall Beverley was gonna be epic. I mean when you message the bride about something wedding related & you start having a lengthy hilarious chat about Married at First Sight Australia you know you're onto a winner.
The day began amidst the frickin epic Bridal suite in the stunning Rise Hall in Beverley. Not only did I have such a laugh on the wedding morning. Especially when I got lost about 17 times trying to find the Grooms room because of Rachael's appalling directions might I add 😂 But also because jeez these guys were just such a joy to be around. Impromptu limbos, crazy dance offs & all the frickin love. Also just gotta mention the amazing Emilie Yong-Mills make up who is a bloody BAFTA winning make up artist on The Crown. How cool is that! In fact the whole wedding was such a mish mash of awesome folks from different parts of the world. Genuinely has some of the best chats with talented interesting humans all day.
Anyway once Rach had her stunning starry dress on we headed downstairs for an orchestral entrance to Sam at the alter. Sheesh this Rise Hall wedding ceremony was filled with all the tears & all the heart. The perfect opening to a perfect love amidst beautiful sunny Yorkshire. A huge confetti shot paved the way for the first bout of epic portraits. Jeez Rach & Sam were a frickin joy to hang out with. Honestly I could literally fill an entire gallery with outtakes of Rach's facial expressions. Not only that but some of her Ozzie sayings had me in stitches as we stared at Cows, appreciated bugs & created some of the best portraits around this incredible venue. There's a lot of that in the incoming reel so be prepared.
A frickin hilarious moment was when one of the Australian guests convinced the rest of the wedding there was an Ozzie game called F*£k You Cows where if you see a Cow you've got to shout "F*%K YOU COWS." Creating romantic storytelling imagery in an idyllic landscape with the sounds of "FUCK YOU COWS" repeatedly has instantly become one of the highlights of career. Well done.
More beaut group shots, emosh speeches & a glorious fillet steak IN MY BELLY led us into golden hour magic where we found a Eucalyptus tree, drop kicked some drop bears & soaked in that magical light for some final portraits. An epic dress change for Rach WITH A FRICKIN CAPE led us to the first dance where I squeed over a fairy light curtain & captured all the love & magic on the dance floor of Rise Hall in Beverley.
When it finally came to saying my goodbyes I could see a little tear in Rach's eyes as she begged to be my friend. 😂 I was close to finishing this dissertation on that sentence as I find myself hilarious but seriously we were both proper emosh. This job is much more about having a connection with people as it is about creating photographs & I could not have asked for a greater set of humans to warm my cockles on that day I'll never forget. As for being friends. I'll leave you with a little lesser known banger that reflects my feelings entirely.

THE REVIEW
“Ok! I am doing this. It’s taken me a while to write this review, because honestly, I needed to find the right words, to do Ryan justice.
When I was looking for a Wedding photographer, I searched terms such as “unique” “cool” “northern” “east riding” And then Ryan was the first one to appear and I Just KNEW he was our guy especially when I started to deep dive on his reels. I was in hysterics and showing all my co workers, friends and obviously at the time fiancée.
Ryan possesses something so acutely wonderful, it’s not just his work which even after my wedding, I still look at our pictures daily and the other weddings he has done.. It’s not just he loves his family so much which I think brings a clear and loving narrative to his work.. it’s just the man is a great human who is genuine & passionate about what he does. It’s hard not to want Ryan to actually be your friend & during our wedding day, people at times assumed he was down to his personality and hilarious nature …
We cannot recommend Ryan enough. He caught moments that I didn’t even think he would; during the ceremony I cannot even remember seeing him, but the photo’s a tear jerkingly perfect. He caught all the emosh and feels and it’s just so lovely to know that we can recapture that incredible day by going through his photos. It’s worth noting that we also asked Ryan to do a Super 8 recording. If you haven’t watched yourself to a soundtrack of your favourite songs in this incredible way, you simply should…Ryan isn’t all “quirk” and such, we had traditional photo’s done on the day and Sam and I never felt “positioned” or rigid or herded around like cows.. it’s easy, effortless and fun.
Simply cannot wax lyrical about Shutter Go Click enough… and as mentioned previous like myself, and my friends on the day… we all want to be his friend since… (me from the moment we started chatting!) that has to show you what a “unique”.. “cool” kind of guy he is…Oh! worthy note he let me text him about MAFSAU and well… you have to like a person that is happy to also respond on that…”

Holy moly I have always wanted to photograph a Hepworth Wakefield wedding. WE MAKE ART FROM LOVE baby & we sure as hell lifted the roof off shakey wakey for this DOOZY of a day with the spectacular Evelyn & Ben.
I headed up to the jaw droppingly beautiful Winton Estate just outside of Edinburgh for a wedding in a FRICKIN CASTLE. Without a doubt this Winton Castle wedding has to go down in history as one my all time favs I've ever photographed & not least because it involved A REAL LIFE OWL.

Lewis & Dee legit have that spark of MAGIC about them that made me knew I had permission to get as weird & frickin wonderful as SURREALISM & SOUL would allow at their St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation & peace wedding. These guys had absolutely ZERO inhibitions & believed whole heartedly in what I create.
