A Kirkstall Abbey Wedding | Jess and Josh
OUR OWN GALAXY
I’ve got to come right out & say that it’s couples like Jessica & Josh that literally make me love everything about my job. these two magnificent humans have just been an absolute pleasure to be around not to mention both of their epic families & friends who are some of the warmest & most welcoming people I’ve ever had the fortune of being surrounded by. The perfect people, the perfect love. All right there amidst the perfect Kirkstall Abbey for their wedding day.
It began in Jess & Josh’s home with her mum & Bridesmaids before walking down with her dad to the jaw dropping ceremony venue of Kirkstall Abbey. Now you guys know how much I love been inside a couples home when they get ready & I just adore seeing those little details around the house that reflects the people they are. Plus check out the incredible flowers from Daisy Hoban Wedding & Event Florist who I’ve worked with a couple of times this year. Wow. Now I’ve spent a heap of time at Kirkstall Abbey but never for a wedding & to walk through that gate to the stone pillars framing those that matter most was a sight to behold.
It was there beneath the giant window of the ruins these two said their I do’s before we adventured around the age old grand stones for some killer portraits. Just before the skies broke & the rain fell in droves a vintage bus took the couple & guests over to one of my top 10 venues in Yorkshire aka The Faversham. You guys have got to see the killer details at this wedding that all seem to be devoted to the Bride & Groom’s French Bulldog Fred. He might not have been there in physical form for the day but sure as Hell was there in spirit. MISSED YOU LITTLE DUDE!
Speeches were full of emotion but the laughter & tears didn’t stop these two heading out into the Brutalist Leeds University awesomeness that I owe so frickin love. I legit couldn’t ask for more from a couple as bride Jess walked barefoot & these guys scaled concrete & stairs aplenty for those epic portraits all while loving every damn moment.
Inside the light faded for these two to take their spotlight for their first dance. FaIry lights played like stars for them in their own personal galaxy. I made friends at this wedding, I laughed with them, I shared in the memories with them. I took a moment to stand back as Jess & Josh embraced in the darkness to appreciate them for the magnificent humans they are & their love which would light the darkness for ever more.
REVIEW | JESS & JOSH
“We booked Ryan before we even had our wedding date booked as we were so set on him being our photographer. He captured the whole wedding at Kirkstall Abbey in the most amazing way. Our wedding photos are filled with all the love & happiness from the day whilst still being so natural. It was like having another friend at the wedding, he made us so relaxed, & is someone we want to share a pint with again.
I can’t express enough how amazing they are thank you so much. Everyone who has seen the video or the photos is so shocked - no one has ever seen wedding photos liked that before & everyone loves them. I genuinely think in a few years I’ll be showing off I had you for our wedding photos as you will be so expensive & famous and we got you before you exploded ❤️”

As soon as I arrived the awesome venue manager gave me the grand tour of This Green Moon telling me about MAGICAL little monsters that lived there and endowing me with a special bracelet. I mean that was probably the GREATEST wedding venue intro I've ever had to be fair.
