Holy moly have I wanted to do another Bert's Barrow wedding for a long time. Not only are the guys who run it absolutely beaut but sheesh it's such a lovely wedding venue filled with all the corrugated iron & festoon beauty that makes me feel all fuzzy inside like a kangaroos pocket.
A little while back I got to photograph the Bert's Barrow wedding day of the absolutely unreal Kate & Gary. Sheesh I cannot even begin to tell you how kind & beaut these two are. All day long I felt like I was hanging out with good pals & the magic we created in between the wild weather gave me all the feels. The day began with Kate & her Bridesmaids, Gary & his groomsmen & of course their adorable daughter Heidi before we headed off to Bert's Barrow for the magic to truly begin. Funnily enough Gary's brother is a wedding photographer aka Paul of Paul and Tim & when we arrived he said to me. "I don't envy you with the lighting in here." To which I replied "you're mental it's better than outside." 😂
Genuinely that mix of festoon, fairy-lit beauty against industrial awesomeness of Bert's Barrow is my absolute fav to photograph. Even if it was beaut outside I'd have preferred to be amidst that eclectic mix. As a side not I frickin loved Paul & Tim. What a bloody magnificent set of humans. After an emotional Bert's Barrow wedding ceremony amidst those that matter most. We headed outside to get trench foot & soak in the sunflowers & nearby logs for some drizzly portraits. Just check out Kate's glorious cape. WHAT A SET OF MEGA BABES! After some indoor creativity with the wedding party it was speeches & AMAZING food before all the dance floor antics featuring the worst confetti canons I have ever witnessed.
What a day amidst such a colourful collision of love. Here's to Gary & Kate. XOXO
