This year I have gained a son, lost a parent & enhanced bonds with the BEATING HEART of my very soul. 2025 is all about the new. One last push of CRAZY before I can sit my weary bum down & say GOOD FUCKING JOB. To all the humans that made those 365 days one of a kind & gave me money to feed the menagerie I ry five you. 2023 was a mixed bag of awesomeness. UNREAL holidays and date nights that lead to conceiving our brand new SMELLY BAB. (Too much information I know) Birthdays & trips, another pregnancy journey filled with so much excitement & so many huge fucking LAUGHS. Casey is becoming such a kind & magnetic little human it just fills my HEART with so much pride to know we made him & who he is becoming. Yes I'm a wedding photographer & I ADORE what I do but it's this little slice of time in between wedding seasons that I LOVE so much.
I guess the very fact it's taken me all day to put this retrospective together shows not just how many photos I've taken of my family this year & our ADVENTURES together. But also the amount of time I've had with my favourite two HUMANS on the planet. 99% of the 1500 plus 35mm film photos I've shot this year I have home developed, home scanned & edited. Over 300 plus hours of work. It's not just the process itself that I LOVE, but what the process is for. To leave a VISUAL LEGACY behind of all that makes up my life, my world & everything that makes it so. This is My Love Letter to Life. Our 2022 on Film.
What a PHENOMENAL year. I feel like I repeat that every single 365 days but 2025 was seriously special. Yes my work aloud me to travel the globe in 2025, but it was tilting the scales on the side of FAMILY & getting that work life balance oh so right for the first time in history that really made 2025 my all time favourite.
