SWEET PURE LINSEED OIL PUTTY

Wellity. wellity. wellity... what have we got ere then me old muckers? Why am I talking like that... I've been looking forward to this Northern Monk Leeds wedding all damn year long. The magnificent Carla & Elliot got in touch a while back after seeing my bizarre photos of the awesome Backchat Brass & thinking they were a bit of alright. Of course I don't mean to blow my own trumpet... Ba dum tss.

Orange smoke bombs add colour to the industrial backdrop as the Bride and Groom run towards the camera in this Northern Monk Leeds wedding.

Fast forward & I'm slap bang in the centre of the JAW DROPPING Thwaite Mills for these two to tie the knot amidst that atmospheric industrial spectacle & those that matter most. SWEET PURE LINSEED OIL PUTTY I'm not sure I can think of a venue more suited to my aesthetic than this eclectic Leeds historic venue. Just check out that ceremony room & the picturesque beauty of Carla & Elliot at the centre of it all. It's enough to make a grown boy SQUEE with excitement. Which of course is exactly what I did as I took these two out for some badass portraits & confetti exploding awesomeness while we explored Thwaite Mills.

A Thwaite Mills wedding ceremony in full swing as the Bride and Groom say their vows amidst an atmospheric industrial setting.

After my sat nav made me panic while even it was confused by the Leeds city loop, we headed over for the incredible Northern Monk Leeds wedding to truly begin. Honestly I've wanted to photograph a Northern Monk Leeds wedding for donkeys years & finally got the chance to soak in the epic vibe of this beer laden beauty of a city venue. With unreal food, the goodest beer & some beaut speeches, I dragged these two back outside as the rain eased off for some magical sunset portraits & smoke bomb antics.

Sunset over Northern Monk Refectory in Leeds as a Bride and Groom stand in an embrace smiling.

It was back inside Northern Monk Refectory after an awesome first dance that I once again got to witness the fitness of the always phenomenal Backchat Brass. Jeez these guys as always had the room on their feet & lit up that dance floor with pure unadulterated ELECTRICITY. A special mention has to go Ben. This little guy was such a phenomenal dancer & relentlessly so. He just didn't stop! So much so I think Backchat Brass want him around at every gig the absolute legend.

A last fanfare, a few high fives & hugs later I was back on the road saying my goodbyes to such an unreal Northern Monk Leeds wedding day. A huge thank you to Carla & Elliot for the honour of photographing your most awesome of days. You guys are genuinely such a kind & beaut couple of love struck humans it was a privilege to spend the day with you both.

REVIEW | CARLA & ELLIOT

"As with most my wedding planning, my indecisiveness was again out of control when looking for a photographer. But I knew I wanted something different and quirky.

Then one day I was scrolling through my Instagram and came across a photo shoot that my wedding band had done. I was instantly drawn to the quirkiness and urban setting! I thought, I hope this guy does weddings too … and he did, it was fate!

Me and my now hubby checked out the website and immediately booked in a zoom call with Ryan. There was no more indecisiveness .. he was the man for the job!

We just loved Ryan’s enthusiasm from start to finish. He’s such a likeable, genuine guy and I can’t stress how important it is to actually like your wedding photographer!

On the day we both felt super comfortable having our photo taken, Ryan made it fun! By the end of the day Ryan just felt like one of our friends at the wedding! He even helped the guys with their button holes before the ceremony.

And last but not least .. the outcome was unreal! We are so happy with our photos. We just love Ryan’s style! They’ve brought me and my husband to tears several times! We’ve had so many comments from family and friends saying how great they are and that they’re the best wedding photos they’ve ever seen. In fact one friend said "I need to divorce my wife, so we can get married again and have Ryan as the photographer"

Thank you so much Ryan!

Carla & Elliot xxx"
